Episodes first draft

Okay, I've been working on this for the past week and a bit and this is what I've got written down for my 10 episodes. They still need a bit of extra work but I am nearly there.

Episode one – gingerbread men

In this episode Annabel and her friends are making  ‘Gingerbread men’. The Big Cookbook reads out all the ingredients they need, but the Measuring Spoons are not listening and accidentally knock over the golden syrup and end up getting stuck. Annabel explains that you have to be careful when carrying ingredients or you might end up in a mess.

Next Sieve is adding some ingredients, but is very nervous.   The measuring spoons again try to be helpful but don’t listen and the flour is spilt all over them and the table. When the mixture is finished the Rolling Pin Twins have trouble getting lined up,  and end up facing the wrong way, but thanks to everyone’s help they get the job done.  Everyone takes it in turns to cut out their shape with their cutter, the dough gets stuck and Wooden Spoon has to pop it out.  The cut outs are placed on a baking tray and cooked. At the end when the gingerbread men come out of the oven, everyone decorates them with sweets, resembling their friends.

Sieve gives her character a smile and Measuring Spoons give their gingerbread men funny faces, making everyone laugh.

Episode two – bread

Today Annabel and her friends are baking bread. Everyone collects the ingredients, but the Measuring Spoons feel left out and so decide to steal the flour. Fortunately they left a trail of footprints that leads Annabel to the flour and to them. Annabel realizes that they only wanted to join in and invited them to help with the cooking. When measuring out the water, Measuring Jug helps by counting the volume of water being measured.

Both Annabel and Wooden Spoon get very messy and sticky when mixing the dough, but have lots of fun. Next everyone each gets a ball of dough and shapes it in to an animal and flower. The Big Cook Book next explains that the bread needs to rise so they are at double in size. Annabel and everyone puff out their cheeks pretending to be dough and stand on their tiptoes stretching high and wide. Next everyone decorates their dough with seeds for texture and currants for eyes. Annabel shows how to break an egg and ready to coat the rolls with it, but Pastry Brush is asleep after all the stretching and has to be woken up to finish the job

Episode three – Butterfly cakes

Annabel and her friends are baking Butterfly cakes. Whisk is so excited that when he mixes the ingredients together the mixture splatters everywhere. Annabel explains that it is great to be excited but some jobs you need take it steady. Whisk then mixes slower until the mixture it is pale and creamy. Wooden Spoon next divides the mixture in to the cases, but the cases are missing. The measuring Spoons have hidden them amongst all the items on the shelf. Annabel asks the viewers at home if they can spot where the cases are hidden. With the help of her friends they put the mixture in to the cases and then they are cooked in the oven. Once they come out Wooden Spoon puts blobs of butter cream on top and Annabel finishes it off with butterfly wings.

Episode four – Fruit Tarts

In this Episode Annabel and her friends are making fruit tarts. Measuring Jug measures the ingredients and they go in Mixing Bowl. Tablespoon puts water in bit by bit while Wooden Spoon stirs it in. Next the Rolling Pin Twins get ready to roll out the dough. The measuring Spoons decide to make things fun and tell the Rolling Pin Twins they don’t need to put flour on the pin or the table. This results in the dough sticking to them and the table. Annabel explains that Rolling Pin Twins need flour to role out the dough or it will get stuck to the table. The measuring spoons apologise and apply flour to the table, so the dough is rolled out nicely. The pastry cases are cooked and everyone each designs their own fruit tart. Yet again Pastry Brush is sleeping away and has to be woken up to finish the fruit tarts.

Episode five – Pizzas

Annabel and her friends are making pizzas. Annabel chops up an onion, placing it in a pan with the tomatoes to make the sauce. The rest of the ingredients are mixed together in Mixing Bowl, by Wooden Spoon. Rolling Pin Twins next work together to roll out the dough, getting confused on whom is going where again. Measuring Spoons are up to no good and run across the dough and leave footprint. Mixing Bowl is not impressed and chases them, but gets stuck in the dough, which the measuring spoons find very funny. Annabel explains to he measuring spoons and everyone else why it’s not nice to tease people, then everyone helps mixing bowl get out. Next Wooden Spoon spreads the tomato on to the dough and everyone makes their own pizza faces with cheese, peppers and pepperoni.

Next are the Toffee Apples. Wooden Spoon mixes up all the ingredients in a hot pan and gets covered in toffee. Measuring Spoons are excited and run around Wooden Spoon making him dizzy and get stuck to things. Measuring Spoons laugh at him, but get a big scare from Mixing Bowl out of nowhere. Everyone laughs it off and each gets a stick and jabs it in their apple. Things get even sticker as they dip their apples in to the toffee sauce and twirl them in the air.

Measuring Spoons help out by getting the egg but fight over the egg and drop it on the floor. They are very sorry and decide to carry the next egg together. They carry on cooking and then Rolling Pin Twins shuffle along and roll out the dough. They are pleased with themselves and attempt to give each other a high five. Then with a round cutter Wooden Spoon cuts out the dough and the Measuring Spoons place each one on the baking tray. Pastry Brush finishes them off with a light brush with milk, so they golden in the oven. At the end for finishing touches they cut them in half and serve them with clotted cream and jam.

Measuring Spoons over hear this and when no one is looking they swap one of the pricked potatoes with a non-pricked one. While they are being cooked in the oven the Measuring Spoons watch with excitement and then everyone hears a loud pop, so loud even pastry brush wakes up. The jacket potato has popped and everyone knows that it is the measuring Spoons meddling again. Annabel gets all the potatoes out and cuts the good ones in half. The popped one is given to Measuring Spoons who sulk at it, but Annabel comes up with a great idea where they turn it in to a volcano spewing with cheese and beans like lava. Wooden Spoon mixes everything together, but when Sieve needs the coco powder it is missing. Half Teaspoon has taken it and Sieve thinks it is her fault. Annabel finds Half Teaspoon and explains that Sieve needs the coco powder and he should give it back. Half Teaspoon is sorry and helps Sieve with the ingredients.
